antony's storyAntony “Atom Ant” Cosentino is a 100% drug free and ASADA tested Strongman who works closely with the community to help the next generation. Despite his short career beginning mid 2012, he has secured a World Record in the Axle Press along with the titles of Australian Amateur Strongman Champion U80kg’s twice, Australia’s Strongest Man U90kg's, 2nd at the European Strongman Fitness Championships and placed 7th in at the World Strongman Fitness Championships.
This World Championship was held at the Arnold Classic in Ohio, USA and was only his 5th competition. After representing Australia in the U79.5kg competition he flew immediately back to Australia to compete at the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix, only 13 days, later where he secured the title as the strongest man in Australia under 90kg while only weighing 83kg. Toward the end of 2013, Antony successfully defended his U80kg National title in Queensland where he won 4 of the 5 events. This provided a good warm up to the European champs which were held in Helsinki, Finland. Antony gained dual citizenship as an Italian to compete and came 2nd in the prestigious event. It was at this event that he performed the first ever 'Cosentino Clean', a version of no belt Axle Clean that mixes a deadlift, zercher squat and a unique juggling of the bar infront of his judge 2000 World's Strongest Man Janne Virtanen. This 'Cosentino Clean' allowed him to comfortably secure a World Record 120kg Axle Press while all other competitors were stopped at 110kg. While this record is well below his training max, there was no need for another lift to secure the win. Antony represents Australia and his supporters with the strength and humility of an international ambassador. In his recovery time, he continues to build on his community initiative to help the next generation by delivering presentations on the necessity of mental strength and fortitude. Antony competes as often as possible with the intention of developing super-lightweight Strongman as an internationally recognised and financially rewarded sport. |

Antony's mission
He believes that one must ‘pay their dues’ in life, and while he has done this under the iron in order to become strong, he believes that he is in debt to the sport of Strongman and society for giving him an avenue to express himself and his abilities and for providing an environment that is surreal with the level of genuine comradery and support. Antony endeavour to continue educating and coaching the importance of psychological strength though national publications, visual media, presentations and expos.
The financial restrictions (as a non-funded sport) and training demands, place a large burden on his ability to perform as an athlete and to absorb the costs of travel, accommodation, nutrition and coaching. Antony’s public relations and marketing intention is to help promote the sports status and the positive and enduring qualities of Strongman and community awareness of strength sports through his impressive performances (while his body permits). In doing so, he hopes to generate enough revenue to prolong his participation in the sport.
